Terms of service
Last updated: Oct 30, 2026
These terms apply to your use of lodgingengine.com and the services of Lodging Engine. By using the website or our services, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the website.
1. Who we are
Lodging Engine is operated by Eric Adriaan Zwanenburg, an individual (persona física) registered in Mexico with tax ID (RFC) ZAER7212272Q3, domiciled in Querétaro, Querétaro, México. Contact: info@lodgingengine.com.
2. Our services
- Travel discovery: AI-assisted search, destination guides, and links to booking partners.
- Academy and free tools: articles and automated website checks for hotels.
- Services for hotels: managed websites, growth services, Guest Engine, audits, and related projects.
For paid services, the scope, price, deliverables, and timelines are set out in a written proposal or agreement. If it conflicts with these terms, the proposal or agreement prevails.
3. Travel information and bookings
Travel recommendations and guides are for information only. Prices and availability come from booking partners, can change at any time, and are confirmed only on the partner's website.
When you book, your contract is with the booking partner or the accommodation, not with us. We are not a travel agency and are not responsible for partners' services, prices, or policies.
AI-generated recommendations can contain mistakes. Please check important details, such as accessibility, policies, and prices, before you book.
4. Services for hotels
Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes unless stated otherwise. Payment terms are set out in your proposal. Third-party costs, such as your booking engine, domain, messaging fees (WhatsApp, SMS), and paid integrations, are not included unless the proposal says so.
No guaranteed results. We work to improve what is within our control, but we do not guarantee search rankings, mentions in AI answers, traffic, bookings, revenue, or response times of third parties such as Meta or mobile carriers.
Your responsibilities. You provide accurate information, the access we need, and content you have the right to use. You give us a non-exclusive licence to use that content only to provide the services.
Your guests' data. For websites we run for you and for Guest Engine, you are the controller (responsable) of your guests' personal data and we process it on your behalf, under the data processing terms in your agreement.
5. Subscriptions
Monthly services are billed in advance. Unless your agreement sets a minimum term, you can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are not refundable except where the law requires it. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of price changes.
6. Accounts
Business accounts are for people aged 18 or over who act for a business. Keep your login details secure and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity under your account.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the website or services unlawfully or to infringe others' rights;
- scrape the website, overload it, or access it with automated tools beyond normal use;
- try to bypass security, access other users' data, or reverse-engineer our software;
- use our website tools to analyse sites in a way that breaches their terms or the law;
- submit false, abusive, or misleading information through our forms.
8. Intellectual property
The website, the Academy, our software, and our brand belong to us or our licensors. You may read, share links to, and quote short extracts of our content with attribution; any other use requires our permission. Destination photos are used under the licences listed on our image credits page.
9. Third-party services
The website links to and integrates third-party services, such as booking partners, maps, and WhatsApp. Their own terms and policies apply, and we are not responsible for them.
10. Disclaimers
The website, the Academy, and the free tools are provided “as is” and for general information. They are not legal, tax, or other professional advice. We try to keep information accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee it is complete or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost bookings, or loss of data. Our total liability for any claim related to a service is limited to the fees you paid for that service in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100 if you have not paid anything.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, wilful misconduct, or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access to the website or services if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, or where the law requires it. Termination of a paid service is governed by your agreement.
13. Consumers
If you use the website as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, including, in Mexico, the Federal Consumer Protection Law.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the federal laws of Mexico and the laws of the State of Querétaro. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Querétaro, Querétaro, Mexico, and the parties waive any other jurisdiction that could apply because of their present or future domicile, without prejudice to the mandatory rights of consumers.
15. Changes and language
We may update these terms. The new version applies from its publication date; for active paid services, we will give you at least 30 days' notice of material changes. These terms are available in Spanish, English, and Dutch; if there is any conflict, the Spanish version prevails.
